How MeshIQ works

MeshIQ sits between the control system you already run and the lights, adding a wireless layer:

  1. Your climate computer, with an HLP protocol module enabled, sends a control signal to the MeshIQ Industrial PC over the supplied ethernet cable or your own fibre to Modbus TCP/IP standards.
  2. The Industrial PC passes the Modbus TCP/IP signal to the MeshIQ Gateway.
  3. The Gateway converts it to a digital signal and broadcasts it wirelessly to the MeshIQ receivers (dongles) in the luminaires, forming a LoRaWAN mesh across the control area.
  4. Each receiver is individually programmable, so luminaires can be grouped for zonal control.

MeshIQ Industrial PC

The central hub of the system. It receives the HLP control signal from your climate computer, hosts the network server, and connects to the MeshIQ Gateway. Engineered for industrial environments for efficient, reliable operation.

MeshIQ Gateway

A weatherproof device that broadcasts the wireless control signal to the luminaires. With LoRaWAN technology and an IP67-rated enclosure, the gateway keeps communication reliable indoors or outdoors, even in harsh conditions.

MeshIQ Dongle

A compact receiver that plugs directly into a supporting LED luminaire, bringing it onto the wireless network over LoRa. Existing luminaires join the LoRaWAN mesh for remote, precise control with no new control cabling to each fixture.

Control Cabinet

Does MeshIQ replace my climate computer?

No. MeshIQ works with the climate computer you already run. It takes the HLP control signal from your computer over Modbus TCP/IP and delivers it wirelessly to the lights.

How far does the wireless signal reach?

The gateway reaches up to 1000 feet (305 m), and the LoRaWAN mesh extends coverage across the control area. Larger facilities can add gateways to cover more ground.

Do I need new wiring to each fixture?

No. The MeshIQ dongle plugs directly into a supporting LED luminaire and joins the wireless mesh, so there is no new control cabling to each fixture.

Which luminaires work with MeshIQ?

Supporting P.L. Light Systems LED luminaires accept the MeshIQ dongle. Your regional sales manager can confirm compatibility for your fixtures.
